Computed from the per-slice price rather than typed, so it cannot drift from billing. Windows starts at two slices because a single slice is 2 GB of RAM and Windows Server does not run comfortably in that.
If nothing you run needs Windows, the Linux VPS is the same platform, starts at half the price and lets you pick the operating system.
ASP.NET, a legacy .NET application, an MSSQL database, or a desktop tool that only ships for Windows. If something you rely on requires Windows, that decides it - nothing else on this page matters.
You get the machine over RDP and do what you like with it: install what you need, set your own policies, run scheduled tasks. There is no control panel in the way and none is offered.

No. It is Hyper-V virtualisation with resources allocated to you - full Administrator access and your own IP, but not bare metal. If you specifically need a physical machine, tell us and we will say honestly whether we can do it.

Because a single slice is 2 GB of RAM, and Windows Server does not run comfortably in that. The minimum is set by the platform rather than by us wanting a higher entry price.
Not on this product - it is Windows. If you want AlmaLinux, Ubuntu or Debian, that is the Linux VPS, which is the same platform with the OS choice unlocked and a lower starting point.
No. Those are Linux control panels and neither is offered here. You administer the machine directly over RDP, which is how most people run Windows servers anyway.
Yes - it is your server, so you install what you like. Licensing for SQL Server is between you and Microsoft; we provide the machine, not the database licence.

A slice count is easy to get wrong in both directions. Say what the application is and we will suggest one - and you can change it later either way.
