Buy the machine you need, not the tier nearest to it

KVM virtual servers with full root access, built from slices rather than fixed plans. From $4.20 a month, and you change the size later without rebuilding.

Full root Dedicated IP AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Debian 3 data centres
Two servers

Fast disk, or a great deal of it

The only real difference between them is the disk. Everything else - root access, locations, operating systems, panels - is identical.

KVM Storage VPS

A terabyte of SATA per slice, for a lot less. Slower disk, far more of it.

Prices come from our billing system. You choose the slice count, data centre, operating system and panel at checkout, and the total is shown before you pay.

How slices work

One number decides the whole server

There is no tier to outgrow. Add slices when you need more and the machine gets bigger - the price is simply the slice price times the count.

Slices vCPU RAM SSD Transfer Per month
1 1 2 GB 40 GB 2 TB $7.00
2 1 4 GB 80 GB 4 TB $14.00

KVM Cloud VPS, computed from the per-slice price rather than typed - if it changes in billing, this table changes with it. vCPU is one per two slices; everything else scales one for one.

Our dedicated servers are this, larger

The dedicated server page sells the same KVM Cloud VPS product at bigger configurations. It is one platform - "dedicated" describes the size rather than a different machine, and either way you get resources allocated to you with full root and your own IP. We would rather tell you that than have you find out at checkout.

Questions

About running a VPS

Not sure how many slices you need? Tell us what you are running and we will size it rather than sell you the biggest.

What is a slice?

One unit of server. On the Cloud VPS a slice is 1 vCPU, 2 GB of RAM, 40 GB of SSD and 2 TB of transfer, and you buy between one and thirty-two of them. Everything scales with the count, so you are not choosing between a plan that is too small and one you do not need.

What is the difference between the two servers?

Disk, and what it costs. The Cloud VPS gives 40 GB of fast SSD per slice. The Storage VPS gives 1 TB of SATA per slice at a lower price - twenty-five times the space, slower, for less money. Pick the Cloud one for anything where speed matters and the Storage one for holding a lot of data.

Is this the same thing as your dedicated servers?

Yes, and we would rather say so. The dedicated server page sells the same KVM Cloud VPS product at larger configurations. It is one platform; "dedicated" describes the size, not a different machine. What you get either way is resources allocated to you with full root and your own IP.

Is it a real dedicated machine?

No. It is KVM virtualisation with resources allocated to you - full root access, your own IP, nothing shared with a neighbour, but not bare metal. If you specifically need a physical machine, tell us and we will say honestly whether we can do it.

Can I change size later?

Yes, that is the point of slices. Add or remove them without rebuilding the server, and the price follows the slice count.

Which operating systems?

AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Debian, a Cloud-Init image, or an empty disk if you would rather install something yourself.

Do I get a control panel?

Optional. None by default, DirectAdmin or cPanel for a monthly add-on - the exact figures are in the table below. Plenty of people running a VPS want neither.

Where are the servers?

Three data centres: New Jersey, Los Angeles and Dallas. You choose at checkout, and it is worth choosing the one nearest your visitors.

Is it managed?

Not by default - a VPS with root access is yours to run. If you want us handling updates and monitoring, ask and we will quote it.

Tell us what you are running

A slice count is easy to get wrong in both directions. Say what the server is for and we will suggest one - and you can change it later either way.
