Three plans, and what separates them

Sites and storage are the two figures that decide this. Everything else is on all three, and is listed once rather than three times.

SkyCore Starter

One site, done properly. A portfolio, a blog, a small business site - and everything it needs, not a stripped version of it.

Bigger than this?

Once a site outgrows shared hosting the honest answer is not a larger shared plan - it is a platform with resources of its own.

The things other hosts charge extra for

None of these are add-ons here. They are on the cheapest plan as well as the dearest.

01

cPanel, not something we invented

The panel every tutorial is written for and every developer you might hire already knows. Nothing to learn twice if you move, either - which is rather the point of it being standard.

02

Email on your own domain

Mailboxes are included rather than sold back to you, with webmail, IMAP and POP, and forwarders and autoresponders in the panel. How many depends on the plan.

03

Free SSL, issued and renewed for you

Every site gets a certificate and it renews itself. No annual reminder, no lapsed padlock, no separate line on the invoice.

04

Daily backups, kept somewhere else

Taken every day and stored offsite, because a backup on the same machine is not a backup. If something goes wrong, ask and we will put it back.

05

Imunify360 in front of it

Real-time malware scanning, a web application firewall and brute-force protection, running on the server rather than sold as an add-on.

06

One-click installs

Softaculous in cPanel puts WordPress and a few hundred other applications in about a minute, with updates handled from the same place.

The platform

What you can actually run on it

Per-account, not per-server. Nothing here is a specification of a machine you are sharing with other people.

Languages and databases

PHP 8.3, 8.2 and 8.1
MySQL, managed from phpMyAdmin
Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails
cURL, GD, CGI, ionCube, Zend

Control and security

Secure FTP and SSH access
Cron jobs, custom error pages
Password-protected directories, IP blocking
Hotlink protection, AWStats
Questions

About shared hosting

Not sure whether shared is enough for what you are building? Ask us - we will say so if it is not.

What is shared hosting?

Several customers on one server, sharing its resources, which is what keeps it inexpensive. Right for personal sites, small businesses and anything that does not need a machine to itself - which is most sites, most of the time.

How many websites can I host?

It depends on the plan, and the table above has the exact figures. Starter carries one; the larger plans carry more. If you are hosting a second site, start on the plan that covers it rather than upgrading a week later.

Is email included?

Yes, on every plan, on your own domain. The number of mailboxes goes up with the plan. If you need something more substantial than that, we sell dedicated email products separately.

Do you take backups?

Daily, to offsite storage. Ask support and we will restore from them. A backup sitting on the same server as the site is not really a backup, so ours are not kept there.

Is there virus and malware protection?

Imunify360 runs on all our servers - real-time scanning, a web application firewall and protection against brute-force login attempts. It is included, not an upsell.

Do I get SSH access?

Yes, though not root - it is a shared machine, so you have rights over your own files and nothing else. That covers most of what people need SSH for.

Can I resell space from a shared plan?

No, a shared plan is not built for that. Reseller hosting is, and it gives you WHM to create and manage accounts for your own customers.

Can I upgrade later?

Yes, at any point, and it is the usual path as a site grows. Ask support and we will move you up without downtime.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Seven days. If it is not what you expected in the first week, tell us and we will refund it.

Will the price go up at renewal?

No. It renews at what you signed up at. A first-year price that quietly triples on renewal is common in this industry and we do not do it.

Every site needs a domain

Register one alongside the hosting, or point one you already own at it - we will help with the DNS either way.
